Artist Biography

  • I come from a creative family - Father was a writer and comedian; Mother was a classically trained pianist: Brother is a filmmaker; I am an abstract painter and sculptor  After receiving a BA in Fine Arts at USF in Tampa last century, I worked in NASA publication in Houston.  New York City became my home in 2022 when I launched my artisti

  • I come from a creative family - Father was a writer and comedian; Mother was a classically trained pianist: Brother is a filmmaker; I am an abstract painter and sculptor  After receiving a BA in Fine Arts at USF in Tampa last century, I worked in NASA publication in Houston.  New York City became my home in 2022 when I launched my artistic career.  My talents began to take shape at the Art Students League, Greenwich Pottery House, and Hunter College.

Artist Statement

  • While I love New York City, travelling the world is my passion.  After visiting 50 countries, the world's people and their religions ignites my artistic vision.  My primary medium has been acrylic painting, but this past year ceramic sculpture has become a new foundation.

My Inspiration

  • Currently I am in the midst of a series of NYC past and future.  Ten paintings with accompanying  sculptures will be finished by fall 2026. The series will be unveiled in a local gallery. 
  • My life long heroes are the abstract expressionists Willem and Elaine deKooning, Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollack, Lee Krasner, Joan Mitchell, Helen Franken
